TELEPHONE DEMONSTRATOR
Two Demonstration Lines

Model 49200
| The Proctor Model 49200 Telephone Demonstrator enables live demonstrations of telephone products, computers (via modems), and facsimile equipment, without using telephone company lines. It provides all the necessary phone line functions required to demonstrate a wide variety of telephone products and accessories. The 4-port 49200 can accommodate two different demonstrations simultaneously and can also be connected to a cassette tape player to allow users to listen to pre-recorded instructions or sales messages. The unit features programmable ringing, auto ringdown, and line-access options that enable the user to tailor demonstrations to different applications and environments. The 49200 is easy to install and set up and can be operated wherever standard AC power is available.

How It Works

The 49200 works just like a miniaturized Telco central office. It provides -48Vdc line feed, 20 Hz ringing generation, DTMF dialing detection, and precision call progress tones. The user simply plugs the demo unit into the nearest standard AC outlet, plugs in the line cords of the four telephone devices (and tape player, if desired) and dials one of the other devices. Once the other device answers and a talk/data path is established, the demonstration can proceed. The installer can program the unit with different ringing and line-access selections which include up to 10 different ringing cycles, 4 different ringing patterns, two automatic ringdown configurations, and direct access to a sales assistance line or the cassette tape port. Programming is performed via any standard telephone connected to one of the four ports. Optional Model 49201 Breakout Boxes enable one 49200 Demonstrator to serve a larger network of telephone devices. Each additional breakout box provides one output for each of the 49200 ports. The 49200 can also be used to quickly check basic phone equipment functions, like the dial, ringer, line, etc.
