Off Premise Extension (OPX) Line

Model 46222 & 46224 Long Loop Adapters
|
|
| The
Proctor Model 46222 Long Loop Adapter provides Off Premise
Extension (OPX) and dial long line capabilities for both PBX and
key system applications. The self-contained unit can be used
wherever common 115 AC power is available. It provides 48 volt
line feed and 20 Hz ringing for operating a standard DTMF
telephone device without using telco facilities or special
equipment and power. The unit uses low loss, balanced transmission
circuitry to provide a high-quality talk path over long loops, up
to 30,000 feet in length. The unit corrects and transmits
hookswitch flash to allow activation of system features from the
remote device. The 46222 is ideal for facilities requiring
reliable, independent off-premises or on-premises communications,
such as military bases, entry gates and guard posts, and large
school campuses or business complexes.

How It Works

The 46222 is a stand-alone long loop telephone
circuit that works independently of the public switched telephone
network. The user simply plugs the unit into the nearest standard
AC outlet, plugs in the line cords of the remote device and the
PBX system or KSU, and it's ready to work. Each 46222 extends the
loop length of the line out to 30,000 feet (24 AWG wire). The unit
works with systems that use standard 2-wire ringing and also
converts 3-wire DC ringing to standard 2-wire bridged, 20 hz
ringing. It includes RJ11 modular jacks for quick connection of
the line cords (special modular adapters are available for
retro-fitting bare wires to the jacks). In addition to providing
on- or off-premise extensions, the 46222 can be used to
interconnect key systems, to allow sharing of system features, and
to convert low-voltage system lines to telco standards, for use
with voice mail, facsimile and other special equipment.
